Some bridges have more lit arches than others so I went hunting and found this one. One thing I did not expect about the Netherlands was how often it rains. While I was there for 5 days it constantly rained so i used my ipad to constantly monitor the weather and finally got a 1 hour window. I ran out and shot this picture. So if you plan to shoot in the Netherlands I highly recommend a raincoat and a cover for your camera, like a storm jacket or a camera umbrella.

In the Netherlands there is always rain clouds that move through fairly quickly, so its very common for it to be dry then drizzle for a few hours then clear up again, and its in between these moments I was able to capture dramatic clouds. Watching people live here seemed mesmerizing to me. I thought about how they live on the edge of the water and how it must be so serene. This is a place I plan to visit again and again.

I did not get a chance to do a tour boat but we have a friend, Harm, who was gracious enough to take us on a small boat so in many ways I felt i got a way better tour of the Canals. This is one of my favorite images, I feel it really captures a romantic view of the city. I can't wait to go back.

Walking along the canals as night sets in, truly is an amazing experience in Amsterdam. The canals come to life, the water becomes very calm and the streets lights start to turn on. I could not help but stand there and gaze into the distance admiring the reflections. Come prepared with umbrella and raincoat as its very common for scattered shows to come and go all the time.
