  • I was trying to create an epic sunset on a large city like new york. I am pleased how to turned out. some times less is more.
  • I was trying to create a view of the andes in argentina or at least what it would like if I climbed to the peak of a mountain. created in vue xstream.
  • A large city sitting on the waterfront as a storm moves in. created with vue xstream.
  • In another solar system there is a planet that is barren but has 5 moons.

  • one of my first bryce renders. sadly I've lost the original and this is all that remains. I've tried recreating it but getting the tones and water ripples just right fails for me. A long long time ago I went by the nickname of "mutt" hence I water marked. A mistake I regrett and now I keep this here for nostalgia. It reminds me of how much my art has grown since then but also the simple beauty and imagination that drove me into digital photography.
  • an exploration of an app called Terragen. Incredibly difficult to master yet renders super realistic terrain which rivals other way more expensive apps.

I now keep these here for nostalgia and to share with others my early artwork. They have flaws and I myself would not buy a large print of this but I feel smugmug is a great way to showcase early works which can inspire newcomers to not give up and keep trying as we all start somewhere. Making mistakes is part of going down a road that leads is to a better place where our artwork shines.
  • Created in Bryce. One of my early works and one of my favorites. Bryce was incredibly easy to use and it it was a joy to use. Now I've moved on to E-on's Vue Xstream.
  • An exploration of Bryce. I modeled the submarines using primitives and tried to create water dispersion via photoshop. Later on I learnt how to do this within bryce.
  • When exploring some apps like 3d studio I try to keepo my final render simple, I find less is more sometimes. I created splines added some globes placed a light box in certain and finally gave it scanlines in photoshop as if looking at thru a TV. 3D studio is very powerful 3d app, quite complex to learn in fact i specifically only focused on learning how to do splines as there is too much to learn in a weekend.
  • I got the idea from a famous artist and again for me the beauty of this render is simplicity. I like to think, when someone sees this, their mind starts to fill in the missing bits, like why 3 balls, why is it split in half, what does it mean? answers to questions only you the viewer can think of. Rendered in Bryce.
  • The orginal is now lost and only lives here. Rendered in Bryce. I have tried to replicate this in 3d studio and vue xstream but getting the right tones in the colors fails me. what i like about this render is the wavy reflections.
  • This is an expeirment using 3d studio to create an abstract. Its been so long since I used 3d studio but in a weekend i spent time to learn how to explode an object then the post work is done in photoshop to layer a text file which is the green text as if this was some kind of console operating system.
